Dubai Changes Speed Limits on Five Roads From November 1, 2026: Full List

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police will introduce revised speed limits on five roads from November 1, with increases on three routes and reductions on two others to support traffic flow and road safety.

Dubai motorists will need to watch for new speed limits on five roads from Sunday, November 1, 2026, following an announcement by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police.

The changes will increase maximum speeds on three roads and reduce them on two others. Authorities say the adjustments are intended to improve traffic movement and enhance road safety.

The affected roads are Al Asayel Street, Al Mustaqbal Street, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, Al Rebat Street and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street.

Dubai Speed Limit Changes: Full List

The revised limits will apply to designated sections of the affected roads. Motorists should check the official road signs and maps rather than assume the changes cover each road’s entire length.

The two reductions specified in the announcement are:

  • Al Rebat Street: Speed limit reduced from 100 km/h to 90 km/h.
  • Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street: Speed limit reduced from 80 km/h to 70 km/h.

Speed limits on the other three roads—Al Asayel Street, Al Mustaqbal Street and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street—are scheduled to increase. The exact revised speeds and affected stretches should be confirmed against the official RTA and Dubai Police announcement before publication.

Why Is Dubai Revising Speed Limits?

The changes form part of wider efforts by Dubai’s transport and policing authorities to improve road safety and manage traffic movement.

Adjusting speed limits to suit particular road conditions can help authorities balance traffic flow with the need to reduce risks for motorists and other road users.

Drivers should follow posted speed limits, remain alert to changing road conditions and allow sufficient distance between vehicles, particularly on busy routes.

When Do the New Speed Limits Take Effect?

All five changes are scheduled to come into force on November 1, 2026.

Motorists travelling on the affected roads should look out for updated speed-limit signs and consult official maps to identify the precise sections covered by the new rules.

Drivers should follow the speed limit displayed on the road and avoid relying on older navigation information that may not yet reflect the changes.
