First-of-its-kind vertiport to connect Dubai International Airport and Al Marjan Island in just 15 minutes, launching alongside Wynn Resorts in 2027.

Skyports partners Wynn Resorts to connect Dubai and Al Marjan Island in 15 minutes, marking UAE’s first inter-emirate air mobility corridor

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is set to enter the era of advanced air mobility with the launch of its first air taxi vertiport in the first quarter of 2027. The project, developed by Skyports Infrastructure, will coincide with the grand opening of Wynn Resorts’ landmark integrated resort on Al Marjan Island.

According to Skyports CEO Duncan Walker, the vertiport will provide a “perfect opportunity” to showcase the UAE’s first inter-emirate aerial mobility corridor, cutting travel time from Dubai International Airport to Al Marjan Island to just 15 minutes.

A Transformative Step for UAE Tourism and Mobility

The Ras Al Khaimah vertiport is part of a broader plan to develop a network of aerial mobility hubs across the Emirates, with future projects under consideration in Dubai, Ajman, and potentially Abu Dhabi. The initiative aims to not only enhance connectivity for international visitors but also to redefine how residents and tourists travel between emirates.

The Wynn Al Marjan Island resort, slated to become one of the region’s most high-profile hospitality and entertainment destinations, provides the ideal launchpad for this futuristic transport model. By integrating air taxi services into the visitor experience, RAK is positioning itself as a pioneer in sustainable, next-generation travel solutions.

Building the UAE’s First Inter-Emirate Corridor

The vertiport project will be a milestone in the UAE’s smart mobility agenda, aligning with the country’s ambitions to lead the world in urban air mobility (UAM) adoption. By leveraging electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, Skyports’ infrastructure promises fast, efficient, and low-emission transport — seamlessly linking city hubs with leisure and tourism hotspots.

“This is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate what inter-emirate aerial mobility can deliver,” Walker said, highlighting the strategic alignment of the vertiport’s launch with Wynn’s resort opening.

The Bigger Vision

With Ras Al Khaimah positioning itself as both a luxury tourism and innovation hub, the vertiport signals a bold step forward in enhancing the emirate’s global appeal. For visitors, the ability to bypass road traffic and arrive directly at Al Marjan Island in a fraction of the time could transform the overall travel experience.

As more vertiports take shape across the UAE, the 2027 RAK launch may well serve as the blueprint for a new era of seamless, sustainable inter-emirate travel — blending technology, tourism, and forward-thinking infrastructure into one of the world’s most ambitious mobility projects.
