Groq and HUMAIN Launch OpenAI’s New Open-Source Models with Real-Time Access Across Saudi Arabia and Beyond

New partnership brings lightning-fast AI models to Saudi Arabia and beyond, powering innovation with real-time inference, developer tools, and open-source accessibility

Strategic partnership delivers blazing-fast AI inference, developer tools, and local support, as Saudi Arabia accelerates leadership in digital infrastructure and generative AI adoption

In a powerful move to accelerate global access to high-performance artificial intelligence, U.S.-based AI inference platform Groq and Saudi Arabia’s leading AI services provider HUMAIN have jointly announced the immediate worldwide availability of OpenAI’s latest open-source modelsgpt-oss-120B and gpt-oss-20B — now live on GroqCloud.

These state-of-the-art models offer developers around the world real-time performance, ultra-low latency, and a full 128,000-token context window, providing seamless, efficient access to cutting-edge generative capabilities. With regional developer support provided directly through HUMAIN, the launch is expected to significantly accelerate AI innovation in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Setting a New Standard in Open-Source AI

“OpenAI is setting a new high-performance standard in open-source models,” said Jonathan Ross, CEO of Groq. “Groq was built to run models like this — fast and affordably — so developers everywhere can use them from day zero. Working with HUMAIN strengthens local access and support in Saudi Arabia.”

Groq’s global cloud infrastructure, spanning North America, Europe, and the Middle East, ensures low-latency responses and robust uptime, allowing widespread adoption of OpenAI’s open models.

Built for Speed and Scale

The models are engineered for high-throughput inference on GroqCloud:

  • gpt-oss-120B processes over 500 tokens per second (t/s)
  • gpt-oss-20B exceeds 1,000 t/s

Pricing for these models is highly competitive:

  • gpt-oss-120B: $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.75 per million output tokens
  • gpt-oss-20B: $0.10 per million input tokens, $0.50 per million output tokens

In a limited-time offer, Groq is waiving fees on tool calls made using these models, which include server-side code execution and real-time web search, enabling developers to experiment and innovate with minimal cost barriers.

Saudi Arabia’s AI Vision in Action

The partnership is also aligned with Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to become a global leader in artificial intelligence. HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, is driving the kingdom’s vision by delivering full-stack AI capabilities — from LLM development and data center infrastructure to applied AI solutions.

“HUMAIN’s partnership with Groq delivers the unmatched inference speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency we need to bring cutting-edge AI to the kingdom,” said Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN. “Together, we’re enabling a new wave of Saudi innovation.”

Supporting OpenAI’s Open-Source Mission

Groq’s support of OpenAI’s open-source models expands on previous deployments, including OpenAI’s Whisper speech recognition system. The collaboration highlights the growing momentum behind transparent, high-performance AI development, with the infrastructure and accessibility to match.

With Groq’s real-time AI inference and HUMAIN’s regional leadership, developers now have unprecedented access to build with next-gen tools — propelling both global AI advancement and the Middle East’s rising influence in the tech landscape.
