Petrol prices across the UAE have reached their highest level of 2026, as regional tensions, disruptions around key shipping routes and volatility in global energy markets push fuel costs higher.
The latest increase has put renewed pressure on motorists, with petrol prices rising by as much as 16.6% compared with September.
Although UAE fuel prices remain below the record levels seen in July 2022, current prices are approaching those historical highs, while diesel has now surpassed its previous record.
UAE Petrol Prices Rise Sharply in October
UAE motorists are paying significantly more for fuel this month following a substantial increase across all major fuel categories.
Special 95, which cost AED 3.69 per litre in September, has risen to AED 4.28 per litre in October — an increase of 59 fils, or 16%.
Meanwhile, Super 98 increased from AED 3.80 to AED 4.40 per litre, representing a 15.8% rise.

The increase means motorists across the UAE are facing one of the sharpest monthly rises in fuel costs in recent years.
