His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently met with Elon Musk, CEO of X, SpaceX, Tesla, and Starlink, to discuss opportunities for global technological collaboration and innovation. The meeting, held at Sheikh Hamdan’s majlis in Nad Al Sheba, also included His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE.
The discussion focused on technological transformations worldwide and explored ways to harness new solutions to advance comprehensive development for humanity while promoting sustainable practices that address diverse global challenges. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE and Dubai’s continued commitment to inspiring innovation through exceptional legislative frameworks, strong international partnerships, and significant investment in human capital. “This approach empowers the thriving technology community across the UAE and contributes to building a more sustainable and prosperous future for all residents,” he noted.
Elon Musk praised the UAE’s forward-looking vision and the remarkable progress it has made in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and space exploration. Musk expressed his best wishes for continued growth and prosperity for the UAE, its leadership, and its people.
The meeting also highlighted the UAE and Dubai’s emergence as leading global destinations for technology and innovation, showcasing their ability to leverage advanced solutions and maintain enduring partnerships with top-tier international technology companies. Key topics included the UAE’s advanced digital infrastructure and its ambitious strategy for artificial intelligence and future technologies, which aim to improve quality of life, enhance economic competitiveness, and establish global benchmarks.
The discussions were attended by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation, as well as Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
