RAKTDA praises Phillips’ legacy as a global tourism champion, pledges continued growth amid leadership transition
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Raki Phillips, will step down in October 2025, concluding a remarkable six-year tenure that significantly reshaped the emirate’s position on the global tourism map.
Under Phillips’ visionary leadership, Ras Al Khaimah emerged as one of the fastest-growing tourism destinations in the region, earning international recognition for its sustainability initiatives, adventure offerings, and investment-friendly approach. While a successor has yet to be named, the authority affirmed its commitment to building on the strong foundation laid during Phillips’ term.
“We thank Raki for his outstanding contribution and unwavering commitment to Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism growth,” the authority said in a statement. “His legacy will serve as a strategic blueprint as we move into the next chapter.”
Phillips joined RAKTDA in 2019, bringing global hospitality experience and a fresh strategic vision. Under his direction, the emirate launched major developments such as Jebel Jais adventure attractions, welcomed a growing roster of international hotel brands, and consistently surpassed tourism growth targets—even amid global headwinds.
Though the authority has not disclosed Phillips’ next move, his departure marks a pivotal moment in Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism journey. The focus now shifts to ensuring continuity and momentum as the emirate pursues its long-term vision of becoming a sustainable and inclusive global tourism hub.
