The MoU marks Gridora’s first major step toward transforming the emirate’s transport sector, aligning private sector capabilities with public ambition to deliver over Dhs35bn in infrastructure projects.
Abu Dhabi, UAE — In a significant move aimed at accelerating the UAE capital’s infrastructure development, Gridora—a newly launched platform backed by ADQ, International Holding Company (IHC), and Modon Holding—has signed its inaugural Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC).
The strategic agreement, announced this week, establishes a framework for collaboration between Gridora and ADPIC to fast-track the planning and delivery of key transport infrastructure initiatives across the emirate. It is the first of several partnerships planned by Gridora to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable, world-class urban growth through enhanced public-private collaboration.
ADPIC, which has been tasked with implementing transport infrastructure projects valued at a minimum of Dhs35 billion, will join forces with Gridora through a joint working committee. The committee will identify priority projects, pilot initiatives, and unlock synergies in planning and execution.
“Gridora’s expertise and resources will deliver world-class infrastructure, empowering the nation’s ambitious economic and population growth goals,” said Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Gridora. “Our MoU with ADPIC reflects our shared commitment to accelerate the implementation of critical transport infrastructure, combining innovation, scale and vision.”
Public-Private Collaboration at Scale
This MoU not only marks a pivotal milestone for Gridora but also signals a renewed focus on integrating private sector efficiency with public development objectives. Gridora’s dual business model spans ‘Infrastructure Projects’ and ‘Infrastructure Investments’, covering the entire lifecycle from planning to implementation and asset management.
“This strategic partnership between ADPIC and Gridora underscores a shared focus on creating transport infrastructure that enhances Abu Dhabi’s continued growth as a global city,” said Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport. “By leveraging Gridora’s capabilities, this collaboration aims to accelerate project delivery, improve cost efficiency, and deliver long-term value for Abu Dhabi and its communities.”
Engineer Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director General of ADPIC, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the MoU’s potential to impact lives on a national scale.
“This MoU with Gridora advances our shared commitment to accelerate the delivery of high-impact projects that enhance connectivity and quality of life across the emirate,” he said.
Backed by Visionary Leadership and Institutional Strength
Gridora was founded under Modon Holding in partnership with ADQ and IHC, three of the UAE’s most influential institutional stakeholders. With this foundation, the platform is uniquely positioned to deliver projects that align with both national priorities and global standards.
Bill O’Regan, Group CEO of Modon Holding, noted that the MoU will be instrumental in showcasing Gridora’s project delivery capabilities.
“We look forward to seeing Gridora move forward with purpose, enabling world-class cities with cutting-edge infrastructure,” he said.
A Blueprint for the Future
Gridora’s engagement with ADPIC is just the beginning. The MoU paves the way for a series of future partnerships designed to shape Abu Dhabi’s next generation of infrastructure. With a focus on innovation, integration, and impact, Gridora is positioning itself as a transformative force in the region’s development ecosystem.
As the UAE continues its rapid evolution into a global hub for commerce, culture, and innovation, partnerships like this one underscore the strategic importance of infrastructure not just as a foundation—but as a catalyst—for national progress.
