ENOC Group Appoints Hussain Sultan Lootah as Acting CEO, Ushering in a New Era of Leadership

Dubai’s government-owned energy giant, ENOC Group (Emirates National Oil Company), has named Hussain Sultan Ahmed Lootah as its acting Chief Executive Officer, marking a new chapter in the company’s leadership. The announcement follows the departure of Saif Humaid Al Falasi, who successfully led the organization as Group CEO for the past decade.

The appointment was confirmed by the ENOC board last week and underscores the group’s strategic commitment to supporting Dubai’s long-term goals of economic diversification, energy innovation, and sustainable development.

Lootah brings to the role more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with an extensive background in finance, commercial strategy, project management, and human capital development. He has been instrumental in advancing Emiratisation and strengthening local talent pipelines, aligning with the UAE’s broader national priorities.

“ENOC Group is at the forefront of building a more sustainable energy landscape for the UAE and the wider region,” Lootah said in a statement. “I am honoured to step into this new role and look forward to working closely with ENOC’s talent and leaders to build on its legacy of innovation and excellence.”

ENOC plays a central role in Dubai’s energy infrastructure and development plans, operating across the full energy value chain—including refining, storage, distribution, and retail. With Lootah at the helm, the group is expected to deepen its focus on innovation, sustainability, and local capability development as it navigates the evolving global energy landscape.

The leadership transition is seen as a move to ensure continuity and resilience while positioning ENOC to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future energy economy.
