UAE Launches Emirati National Identity Strategy

New national framework unveiled to strengthen belonging, cultural pride, and shared Emirati values as core pillars of a cohesive society.


The UAE Government has officially launched the Emirati National Identity Strategy, a comprehensive framework designed to reinforce national belonging, family cohesion, and shared values across all segments of society. The announcement was made during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 held in Abu Dhabi.

Developed by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the National Projects Office of the Presidential Court, the strategy reflects the UAE’s vision to preserve its cultural fabric while fostering a collective sense of identity amid the nation’s rapid modernization and global engagement.

Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture, emphasized that the Emirati National Identity Strategy seeks to “strengthen the connection between citizens and their cultural roots while nurturing a forward-looking spirit aligned with the UAE’s development journey.”

The framework will focus on key pillars, including promoting Arabic language use, celebrating Emirati heritage, supporting family values, and enhancing civic responsibility. It aims to ensure that younger generations remain deeply connected to their national identity while embracing innovation and diversity.

The launch of the Emirati National Identity Strategy underscores the UAE’s commitment to social harmony and cultural sustainability — reaffirming the nation’s belief that a strong sense of identity is essential to progress and unity.

With this initiative, the UAE continues to set a global example in balancing tradition and modernity, ensuring that the values that define its people remain at the heart of its future.
